What can I expect at the consultation?

At your first consultation we will listen to why you are considering aesthetic treatment and address any concerns you may have. Dr Lou will look at your skin, talk you through the most appropriate procedure to achieve your desired look, and ask about your medical history to ensure the treatment is suitable for you. Your safety is her primary concern, and if she doesn't feel treatment is appropriate she will advise against it. The initial consultation is absolutely free of charge, and if you need time to reflect before going ahead a separate appointment can be made.

Can I bring a friend with me?

You are welcome to bring a friend if you feel this would be helpful or supportive as part of your decision-making. There is no obligation to go ahead with any treatment recommended, and you are encouraged to consider treatment carefully before proceeding.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. These are non-surgical elective procedures performed by a GP. Every treatment is preceded by a no-obligation consultation which includes taking your medical history. Your safety and health are the most important concern, and you will always be given an honest opinion regarding your suitability for treatment.

Will it be painful?

The treatments offered are unlikely to cause any pain. Dr Lou minimises discomfort by using a numbing cream before treatment and by using very fine needles. Dermal fillers also contain local anaesthetic, which helps make treatment as comfortable as possible.

Yes, you will be awake throughout all the treatments offered. Dr Lou's experience and calm manner will ensure you remain relaxed throughout the procedure.

How long do the results last?

It varies by treatment and by person. Anti-wrinkle injections typically last three to four months, dermal fillers six to twelve months depending on the area, and Profhilo results build over the two-session course and are usually topped up every six months. Dr Lou will give you a realistic expectation at your consultation.
